Nice staff at the reception he is really outgoing and friendly. He gave us a city map and gave us some tips to travel around in Berlin. Thanks again. We would recommend people to stay there if they go to Berlin. The hotel location is great close to subway and tram station. There are a lot of restaurants and bars near by as well.

Overall very nice, quite new, nice room with a bit of an unusual exposed bathroom setting, good location with restaurants nearby. The only issue was the shower, it was hard to get it to be warm enough and then the pressure would be very weak, so not very pleasant to have a shower let alone wash your hair.

We stayed for a week in one of the top floor suites. Service was excellent and friendly. The room was spacious like a small apartment, clean and quiet. The neighborhood has a lot of bars, restaurants, nightlife and coffee shops, unlike much of Mitte. As others have said, the furnishings are a bit tired, but all in all it was a good value for the amount of space. Oddly, there was a two burner range but nothing to cook or eat with. It didn’t matter, as there are many good restaurants nearby. We would definitely return to Arcotel Velvet, hopefully after they update their rooms.

The Hotel has definitely location going for it. But that's pretty much it. Also compared to the other hotels of the chain e.g. John F for the price it is certainly not worth the trip.
If you have a room to the Oranienburger Str. better plan for not sleeping at all. The thin window gives you a very immersive street life. Remember it is a major city. There is always street life.
If then think you treat yourself to a great breakfast you are wrong. The breakfast room is totally undersized and also compared to other Hotels from the same chain selection is limited and the coffee tastes awful. The service personnel is very nice though.
So it is a safe, clean and well located place but you get better deals elsewhere.

Great place to stay! In walking distance to Friedrichstrasse and unter den Linden. Friendly staff and clean, fun rooms.

Nicely located. Spacious rooms, plenty of amenities. Little touches such as free water and apples, and an eco-friendly attitude shining through the details without imposing
