I've been waiting months to try this restaurant out and was super excited to have received a special VIP invitation for the grand opening! Of course I reserved a table immediately and was so excited to try it finally!
Unfortunately, as soon as I arrived at noon, everything started to go wrong.
At the door, we were immediately turned away, saying the restaurant is not open at all. After showing my confirmation email for the VIP grand opening, I was told it was definitely wrong and to come back the next day.
I was of course disappointed and confused as to why I got a confirmation for that day and suddenly another waiter came out and asked my name, saying then everything was okay, it was just a mistake since the grand opening was only for "Promis" and "famous politicians" but that we should be grateful we could have a table.
After sitting down, we scanned the QR code for the menu, which worked great, but as we tried to order drinks, we were told the ordering system was not working to order so we had to wait...
15 minutes later, the waiter came back and said we need to move to a different table because they messed up the seating for the famous people coming later. Okay... After moving, we asked whether we could order our drinks now and possibly food, as it was already half an hour since we arrived and we only had a limited time for lunch...
Then the waiter scoffed and said no, while laughing, it's not possible because the kitchen was not open yet and they will yell at him if he submits an order now before the kitchen is open! How dare we ask such a thing!! Huh?! We replied that we were also starting to get annoyed that nothing was working and we were on a limited schedule and he just walked away...
Finally at 12:40 we were allowed to order food after some confusion with what order we wanted dishes brought out and we finally got our drinks...
The two iced teas we ordered tasted unfortunately like slightly flavoured water with a rosemary sprig stuck in...
Having been the first table to order food (at some point some people started entering the restaurant) our food finally arrived at 1pm, one entire hour after we sat down.
The food was actually quite good, delicious and presentation really beautiful, though a bit pricey. We ordered the Nacho Mountain, French Fave, the Truffle Treasure, and the Salomango. The nachos had a teaspoon of quite dark brown oxidized "guac" (see pic) on top of a handful of tortilla chips, which I definitely would not recommend.
The Salomango was great and a nice portion.
Overall decent food at expensive prices but largely overshadowed by an untrained, rude staff and extreme disorganization on the opening day leaving us with a very negative experience.
