We're doing the "Modern Cooking" evening, which we received as a Christmas gift. So far, the food has been awesome. I am waiting for my main course. I am sure that it will not disappoint.

Had a chance to visit this place during my last trip to Stuttgart. They have a great selection of local Swabian Food. The service was good and the Rostbraten was excellent. salad sauce very good, meat also knew how to stop the fire, not too dry like many other restaurants in Germany, also not like ' caoutchouc'. Summer can sit in garden side.

Positive: beautiful outdoor terrace and arbors overgrown with vines to relax. The landlady was very hospitable and cordial. Very good quality fries (crispy but not greasy), schnitzel with fries and salad u003d sufficient, filling portion (unmanageable, I had grabbed a doggy bag from serviettes).
Negative: Half of the table in the restaurant was in the sun and was uncomfortable for the guests sitting there (when asked if the blinds could be lowered a bit, they said they were broken and could not be repaired due to a lack of craftsmen, but since the sun would set soon anyway, would that be bearable).
It was collected twice (1x outside consumption, 1x food inside), which could have been solved more elegantly. What we didn't like was that when we were paying, the waitress spent the night because of 2 too many or incorrectly written down beers and even fetched the boss (we paid for all our food and drinks, here they reacted as if they were drunk. Not just once , but when paying for the food, we were asked again how many sausage salads our group of 8 had ordered.
All in all, paying took a very long time, although it was still early in the evening - we had to ask 3x and wait a whopping 50 minutes until someone came to collect.
Adding fresh farmer's bread to the sausage salad instead of the defrosted bread (on a previous visit even sourdough wholemeal bread, which doesn't go with the sausage salad at all) would be appropriate given the prices.

Gut bürgerliches Restaurant, ganz ok aber kein Highlight, um unbedingt wieder dort einzukehren. Eher höherpreisiges Lokal (was bei der Fleischqualität aber ok ist).
Positiv: schöne Außenterrasse und mit Weinreben bewachsene Lauben zum gemütlichen Verweilen. Die Wirtin war sehr gastfreundlich und herzlich. Qualitativ sehr gute Pommes Frites (kross frittiert aber nicht fettig), Schnitzel mit Pommes Frites und Salat u003d ausreichende, satt machende Portion (nicht zu schaffen, hatte mir aus Servietten ei ein Doggy Bag gepackt).
Negativ: Im Wirtsraum stand der halbe Tisch in der Sonne und war unangenehm für die dort sitzenden Gäste (auf Nachfrage ob man die Jalousien etwas runtermachen könnte, hieß es die wären kaputt und aufgrund Handwerkermangel nicht reparierbar, da aber eh bald die Sonne untergehen würde, wäre das aushaltbar).
Es wurde 2x kassiert (1x Außenverzehr, 1x Essen innen), das hätte man eleganter lösen können. Was uns nicht gefallen hat, war dass beim Bezahlen die Bedienung wegen 2 zuviel bzw. falsch aufgeschriebener Bier herumgenacht und sogar die Chefin geholt hat (wir haben alle unsere Speisen und Getränke bezahlt, hier wurde reagiert als wären Zechpreller unterwegs. Das ganze nicht nur 1x,sondern beim Zahlen des Essens wurde nach dem Kassieren erneut gefragt, wieviele Wurstsalat unsere 8er Gruppe bestellt hatte.
Das Zahlen hat insgesamt sehr lange gedauert, obwohl noch früh am Abend - wir mussten 3x nachfragen und geschlagene 50 Minuten warten, bis jemand zum Kassieren kam.
Beim Wurstsalat frisches Bauernbrot beilegen anstatt des aufgetauten Brots (bei einem voriger Besuch sogar Sauerteig-Vollkornbrot, was nun so gar nicht zum Wurstsalat passt) wäre angesichts der Preise angemessen.

Mein Mann und ich (beide vegan) haben uns gestern sehr willkommen gefühlt, weil die vegane Hauptspeise super war. Die Rote-Beete-Bratlinge haben wunderbar geschmeckt und es wurde von meinem Mann direkt der Wunsch geäußert, ich soll die bitte zuhause nachkochen????
Auch, dass sich extra eine vegane Nachspeise für uns überlegt wurde, hat uns beeindruckt. Basilikum-Sorbet auf Erdbeer-Ragout - eine tolle Kombination!
