I had a wonderful experience at Alte Kanzlei. It is tucked away right in the Stuttgart city center; this will definitely stay on my list of Stuttgart's best!

The Käsespätzle is mouth watering and delicious down to the very last bite and is accompanied by a delicious side salad. The restaurant ambience is lovely and the service is very friendly (I'm an American speaking English and they were wonderfully accommodating). I can't wait to return!

Every time I go to Germany, I look forward to the schnitzel with potato salad and currywurst. I had the schnitzel at the Alte Kanzlei restaurant, which was pretty mediocre. The restaurant has a nice and quiet outdoor seating area, so going here for a beer or wine might be a good idea.

We had a family dinner at "Alte Kanzlei" and enjoyed the evening in this restaurant very much.

Service was friendly and swift, and the typical Swabian dishes (roasted beef with onion gravy and grilled potatoes) as well as the seasonal offerings (white cooked asparagus with new potatoes and hollandaise sauce) were tasty and portions plentiful.

Also, the vegetarian dish named "AK Superbowl" (cous cous, grilled vegetables and sweet potato mash) was tasty and well presented. The atmosphere at "Alte Kanzlei" is relaxed, but classy and the location besides the "Schlossplatz" and across from the old castle is very central in downtown Stuttgart. Alfresco dining with a great view of the Stiftskirche is also available.

We enjoyed the great food, good service and cozy atmosphere a lot, and had a great night at "Alte Kanzlei". Recommended!

The best Swabian restaurant in Stuttgart. Tasty, hearty German cuisine with excellent presentation. If you only have a couple nights in Stuttgart, I would dine here. alles war außergewöhnlich

Exceeded my expectations :) food was really tasty, but I give 4 stars because the menu was written only in german and the only thing I recognized was the schnitzel :))

The food was delicious and surprisingly not that expensive. I went for a local dish and it was so good. The serive was fantastic. I love how they decorated the space, modern touches while keeping it's old charm. I would 100% recommend this place and next time I'm back in Stuttgart, I will eat here again.
