I stayed in this hotel two nights and had the worst experience in a hotel in Germany where the hotels are used to be correct.
Room: the light was not working and the receptionist have had to try 4 or 5 rooms until she found one with a functioning light ????.
The second day I came back from work and put the card on the door.. another surprise, the card was blocked.. so again I have had to go downstairs to the receptionist to unblock my card.
Due to this mess, going up and downstairs I lost my business mobile which I found it later at the reception.
Breakfast: the cut fruits is not fresh at all and seems to be prepared two days ago.
The juice was simply bought from Aldi and served later.
The only positive point is that the room was spacious.

This is perfect overnight stop on long driving trips. Mercure standard amenities are still here, supper was fine. Not so breakfast: "served until 9:30" meaning the food disappears a that time. Warm meals were partly gone even sooner, cold dishes were shrink-wrapped. Taste reminiscent of low-cost flights. At 9:45 we were advised to move to the bar. Book room with breakfast, if paid extra it will be 16€. At exactly 10:00 the cleaning team knocked. All in all: good value for the friendly price, correct, no romance ????

Restaurant is closed during our stay. Hotel quite old, not very well located. Sheet is too small for 2 people.

Good location 700m from French German border. Hotel is tired, bed uncomfortable and basic rooms. Breakfast was good but expensive for what it is. The site the hotel is built on has a very interesting history, the panel in reception tells you more. However I don't recommend reading up on it just before you go to bed or you may not sleep so well :-(

We only stayed as it was a way of avoiding the quarantine so as to avoid driving through France. It would appear from the car park we where not the only Brits there doing the same. There was one member of staff on reception, she was very rude. Nothing was open in the hotel, the bar and restaurant shut. Which I don’t understand as other hotels do have their facilities open.So it looks like a cost cutting exercise. Stayed in 2 Mercures on our trip and both where total rubbish. Will NEVER stay in one again.

The biggest disappointment was that there was no restaurant - I just couldn’t believe it!
