Fantastic clinic on the Winterberg, centrally located in the heart of Saarbrücken.

The Winterberg clinic is THE clinic in Saarbrücken, which means that there is a lot going on here (24/7), but after quite a few stays over the last decades, I have to give a big thumbs up to the clinic, the management of the clinic and all the staff.

On all wards, the staff, doctors, midwives and nurses go to great lengths to ensure that patients have a pleasant stay.

Sometimes, as a patient, you wait a little for examinations or for documents, but the hospital at Winterberg is a maximum care provider and sometimes emergencies have priority.

In particular, the delivery room and maternity clinic cordially and sometimes sacrificially take care of expectant mothers, babies and expectant fathers.

Our experience has been mostly positive and we can only recommend Saarbrücken Hospital.

Very mixed bag. Some positives and negatives of my 11-day stay:

+ They did save my life. Once my meningitis was diagnosed, I immediately got the proper treatment.
+ Some of the nurses were doing their very best.
+ The senior physician, Mr. Erbe, took his time to explain things the few times I did see him.

- The first time I came in, they actually sent me home without examining me at all. It was the middle of the night and I was clearly very sick. Only after going to the third doctor the next morning, I was actually examined and rushed back to the hospital from which I had been turned down just 12 hours prior.
- I barely saw any doctors during my stay. Had to complain multiple times in order to see one in the span of four days.
- The assistant doctor, Mr. Haziri, was very unfriendly, incompetent, and borderline clueless.
- Some results were purposely withheld from me for days for no reason. A nurse ultimately printed them out for me (although she wasn't supposed to) so I finally knew at least part of my diagnosis.
- Everything took forever. I sometimes had to wait for hours for the tiniest of things. It felt like the floor was severely understaffed at times.
- I was pumped full of antibiotics for 11 days until the test results came back stating I didn't need any antibiotics in the first place. ELEVEN DAYS between the initial test and getting the results is simply unjustifiable.

one star because one has to give a star....waiting for admission was the longest ever experienced in Germany, England or France! In the general ward the nursing was not good and felt like a Victorian set up, not much care ...

Patient and doctor should "be able to understand each other" and the clinic attaches great importance to this. In the UBZ examination and treatment center, things are going haywire organizationally; but the way is the goal and the result after my partner's cervical and lumbar spine surgery is very satisfactory. The canteen is clean, reasonably priced and has lots of treats and delights. Quick tests for visitors can be carried out free of charge and unbureaucratically to the left of the main entrance. Visiting times are convenient and the staff in the entrance area ensure compliance with the corona and hygiene regulations in a friendly and cooperative manner - even if this is not always easy. The staff is unfortunately often snotty and insulted by guests; nevertheless the staff keeps their composure and is understanding. Respect.

Das Winterberg Klinikum Saarbrücken ist eines der hygienisch einwandfreisten Kliniken im Saarland. Das Personal ist freundlich, hilfsbereit und sehr qualifiziert. Patient und Arzt sollten sich "verstehen können" und darauf legt das Klinikum auch grossen Wert. Im UBZ Untersuchungs- und Behandlungszentrum geht es zwar organisatorisch drunter und drüber; aber der Weg ist das Ziel und das Ergbis nach HWS und LWS OP meines Partners ist sehr zufriedenstellend. Die Kantine ist sauber, preisgünstig und es gibt viele Leckereien und Köstlichkeiten. Schnelltests für Besucherinnen und Besucher können kostenlos und unbürokratisch links neben dem Haupteingang durchgefuhrt werden. Die Besuchszeiten liegen zeitlich günstig und das Personal im Eingangsbereich sorgt freundlich und kooperativ für die Einhaltung der Corona- und Hygiene Vorschriften - auch wenn dies nicht immer ganz leicht ist. Das Personal wird von Gästen leider oft patzig angegangen und beleidigt; trotzdem bewahrt das Personal die Fassung und ist verständnisvoll. Respekt.

Gutes Krankenhaus. Viele Spezialabteilungen, Geburtsklinik, Kardiologie und Neurologie sehr gut. Viel los, manchmal muss man warten, aber allgemein recht freundlich. Wenn möglich, vorher in den Abteilungen anrufen und nicht einfach (außer es ist ein wirklicher Notruf) in die Notaufnahme fahren.
