Unschlittplatz is a small but delightful square on the Lorenzer side of the Pegnitz in Nuremburg. This square dates back to the Middle Ages.
Impressive buildings surround Unschlittplatz, most impressive are those along the west side. These are 16th and 17th century timber houses. They were restored in the late 1970s and early 1980s, providing the pleasant appearance you will see today.
There is also a small monument called dudelsackpfeiferbrunnen (Piper Fountain) in the centre of the square. This is a late 19th century bronze replica of an earlier 16th-century figure of a bagpiper prancing around while playing his instrument.
In the end, Unschlittplatz is well worth making time to visit if you are in Nuremburg for a few days and interested in the many architectural and historical gems the city has on offer to see.
