This was an incredible experience. The food u0026 presentation was amazing. They have an English u0026 German menu, one page. I could tell that the chef has a gift for combining flavors u0026 textures. We sat outside in a small patio. We also ordered a fish entree which was also a taste sensation.

Great location in the very city center. There are menus both in English and German and the personnel is very nice and ready to explain the dishes. Focus on local cuisine, with great antipasti and second dishes. Prices are a bit above the average but still ok. Food was really good and the local wines and beers are good to choice to follow the meat or fish plates! Recommend it!

We were on our business trip and looking for some place to eat. Estragon seemed fine after reading reviews. But... I'm absolutely shocked (not in a good way unfortunately) how we were treated by the owner. We ordered 2 dishes- both of them were badly prepared and the fish was completely raw inside. Second dish was terrible- basically cooked without any seasoning, salt, pepper whatsoever which made of this a tasteless potato ball. Instantly we reported our doubts after which the waitress convey our complaints to the kitchen... and then the beyond belief situation happened. The owner, who was also the chef of Estragon came out. He stood next to our table and started with 'If you don't like my kitchen, you have to leave my place'. We tried to explain that food was really poor and maybe we will try a different dish. After that we heard that our taste is poor and the only place we deserve to eat is McDonalds and Burger King. The asked us to stand up and walk away. He followed us to exit and loudly slapped the door behind us.
I travel around the world and nothing like this never ever happened to me. What shock me the most are all those fantastic reviews.
That was a very unpleasant experience to me and my co worker.

I have no words to describe how we were treated... after waiting 30 minutes for food (we ordered ‚spinach dumplings’ and salmon from oven) we received potato-spinach balls cold inside and had no taste at all... We politely shared our feedback with the waitress who after discussion offered us new dish, we agreed to that. 2 minutes later we received salmon from oven that was raw... so we decided to share that too because we couldn’t eat it. We offered to pay for all drinks and bruschetta we had before and decided ro leave since everything that was served was not right. The owner approached us and said we must leave, he doesn’t want our money and we can go eat at mcdonalds, we have no taste, we have no idea about food and we must go NOW, it’s his house and he can do whatever he wants... we travel a lot and we had NEVER been treated this way, we were so shocked. The owner walked after us to the exit and slammed the door. If you want to eat good food and be treated with respect AVOID THIS PLACE. The owner doesn’t care about clients and has no idea about running business and providing good service, shame on you Estragon restaurant. I’m so surprised by the numbers of positive reviews, have no idea where it comes from.
