I am sorry I realized how much Burghotel wasn’t eager to show any goodwill or sympathy during a period where Covid restrictions are applied.

Christmas market isn’t on the program this year so it’s legitimate to consider canceling a Christmas trip (2 nights accommodation u003d 260 euros). Cancellation in this case is NOT a choice, nor a free will, nor a lack in realizing plans.

Even without free cancellation policy, many hotels nowadays show good will and accept cancellation (sometimes with a small symbolic amount fee). Well we are sorry to see that Burghotel decided to make us pay the total stay even if we are not coming because of the pandemic. We negotiated a voucher or even postponing the stay. They won’t accept. We established a direct communication with them and a second one through booking.com assistance. In both cases they still stood up for their refusal.

Furthermore they argue their business is suffering from these Covid restrictions: businesses have survival strategies and other institutional supports. While us individuals should handle the total loss of 260 euros.
That’s without a doubt lack of professionalism.

Love this small beautiful hotel. Service excellent! And amazing location, you can walk from there everywhere, don't need worried about renting a cat. Love it!

Very friendly staff and great location in the old town of Nurnberg.

With the addition of air condition and tea making facilities we would have rated this 5 stars.
Our room was at the back of the hotel and there was some noise from the extraction fans from a nearby restaurant.
Having said all that our room was very comfortable and the bathroom was very clean and smart.
The hotel was very convenient for just a short walk into the centre of the city.

Lovely place to stay in the heart of old Nuremberg. The staff was exceptionally kind and helpful. The ammeneties were super including a great breakfast and a lovely sauna. Finally, the room was phenomenal. Spacious, clean, welcoming, and complete with a stunning view. I hope to return someday.

Wonderful experience on all levels. Staff was so helpful to us non-German speakers, answering all our questions and arranging for a cab to the airport. The room was spotless and the bed comfortable. The pool was a delight. I'd come back to Burghotel anytime!

My wife and I stayed at the Burghotel in Nuremberg for 2 nights in December 2019. The hotel is perfectly situated for exploring Nuremberg on foot and was very close to the Christmas Market. We walked from the train station to the hotel, which wasn't ideal given the mix of heavy luggage, cobblestones and rain. The hotel helped us to organise a taxi back to the train station when we left, which was much more convenient. Our room was small, but contained everything that we needed for our short stay. Breakfast wasn't included in our initial booking, but we ended up paying for breakfast because it was reasonably priced for the fantastic and delicious spread. The staff were friendly and happily answered any questions we had.
