Vienna Easy House Review
This hotel has been on a roller coaster and its currently downhill.
Over 6 years I've stayed at the Vienna house at least 2-3 times per year, with my most recent trip being dissappointing.
A couple years ago when it was called the Arcona the quality was better.
So what was wrong this time?
Internet
- The internet is barely usable. The download and upload speed hover at around 5-7Mbps, just enough for some web browsing and low quality Netflix viewing. Need to get some serious work done? Forget it. You also get logged out after just 2GB of data usage and there’s a 24 hour cap on time at which point you need to re-authenticate.
Room
- The rooms are barebones as it gets. No water bottle provided, no refrigerator. The furniture and bed is nice but this is a no-frills hotel.
Other
- The "fitness" room consists of a treadmill, elliptical machine, a single set of dumbbells up to 10kg in weight and a weight bench. This barely passes as a fitness room. The sauna was closed due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
- There is onsite self-service laundry but during my stay the washer/dryer combo unit was out of service. The new unit was already in the room and waiting to be hooked up.
- The overall cleanliness has also deteriorated over the years, with stains all over the carpet in the hallways and a general sense that no one is really taking care of the place.
- besides the front desk the hotel staff does not seem to speak any German or English.
