If you want to avoid the (physical) store to be crowded (with very busy consultants), go there before lunch time.

Went to buy a hiking shoe on a Saturday afternoon. Even though the selection lookes good, the staff were unable to attend to waiting customers due to the rush. Could be better staffed to manage the rush hour.

I’ve chosen Schuster for online purchase of Meindl shoes because I trusted them based on the very nice and well equipped shop in Munich. They were not the cheapest though. Unfortunately their online service is a disaster. I experienced the same issue as many other people, judging in the one-star reviews. I placed the order on Sunday, fully paid by Sofort and received confirmation with indication of delivery date between Tuesday and Thursday. Today on Wednesday I received an automatically generated email stating that the article is not available any longer. As an apology they offered a (joke) 5 Eur discount on the next purchase. Now imagine you wanted this shoes for your long planned trekking and you are left empty handed… Let’s see how long it will take them to return my money.

Prices on clothes are different to what they charged at the cashier. When I pointed it out, the staff was rude and refused to discuss it with me. When I said you will lose me as a customer, they said they don’t really care.
This was a man on the 3rd floor in the hiking/wandern section.

The store is centrally located just of Marienplatz next to the Apple store in Munich. The store is very large and caters for a number of different sports and activities. The staff are very friendly and helpful and the is an information desk next to the elevators where you can ask where items can be found. FFP2 masks are required to be worn in the he stored, which is very reassuring during the pandemic.
