Very good Murgh Makhani. It tasted a bit different than what I am used to. But in a good way. Food was ready for pickup in 10 minutes. Portion size was very good. As you can see, we shared one dish.

As you can see on the pictures we had it as "take away", due to current, global circumstances.

My first time in an Indian restaurant, it was wonderful. The food is very good and the staff are very nice and friendly.

Came here on a Wednesday night. It was relatively quiet. The hosts were very friendly and helpful, the ambience was lovely and the food was spectacular!! I was tempted away from my usual butter chicken by vegetable balls in an almond cream sauce and I'm so glad I tried it! It was delicious!!! I would absolutely recommend this restaurant!!!

The oldest Indian restaurant in Munich (30 + years), with consistently top quality food. They use fresh ingredients each time they cook. Simply unbeatable. Service is outstanding: friendly and prompt as needed. They do not play that irritating toothache "aaaahh" Indian background music. We enjoy the meals and the company we are with. ...excellent...

I've been here 10 years ago, ordered a takeaway lunch item and it was terrible. Fast forward to the evening, I decided to give this restaurant the benefit of the doubt and try it again, hoping it will change my mind, it did not. The person who sat me down didn't seem at all enthusiastic. I ordered a large soft drink thinking that it will be different from what's shown on the menu with the (Kindergläser) I.e. anything less than 0.5 litres. I got a small cup instead. Usually other Indian restaurants will give a small soup or papadums as a small appetizer, this one didn't. So came my chicken Tikka, which actually wasn't half bad but honestly wasn't the best I've had. With all of this compounded, I will definitely not be coming back here. I left 2 stars because the main course that came out at the end wasn't so bad. P.s., if you like sitting in claustrophobic places, this will be the place for you. I still don't get why this place is so well reviewed? Anyway that's my honest opinion of this restaurant.

Update Feb 2021: They have mastered the take out service so that the meal is both flavorful and packaged well so it is nice and warm even after a 10 minute ride home. Great food, great service.

Stiill my favorite and one of the best Indian restaurants in the Munich area. The spacious interior setting they always had in the past makes it very comfortable for guests concerned about social distancing. Flavorful meals, excellent service and a very relaxing atmosphere. The perfect combination of value and comfort.

They are offering take-away during the COVID-19 restaurant restrictions. A big plus for Shiraj when it comes to pick-up is they have plenty of space to turnaround and park in the driveway to the left side of their entrance. A plus to their already flavorable dishes if you'd rather drive to pick up your meal instead of having some questionable character deliver it on a bike.

Shiraj is one of the best Indian restaurants, regardless of where in the world. It is even ahead of my favorite London Indian restaurant - where there are some really top places. Clearly one of the best in Munich in terms of flavor, quality and service. Easily accessible by public transport, lots of room with adequate space between tables. We have tried others in Munich, but Shiraj stands out from all the rest. Give it a try, then you can decide yourself.
