One of the best art collections in Munich.

Inexpensive well kept and nicely displayed art.
Pleasant decor of pastel wall coverings.
Unfortunately the lighting (from natural outside lighting) and glass covered paintings make viewing less than desirable.
The descriptions are in German but with Google translator imagery this is easily overcome

Got a great collection of landscape paintings and titzian copies. Entrance is fairly cheap too!

Great collection of art, I really enjoyed the exhibition.

It's also very versatile, you can find many different styles of painting of different era's

I do recommend it, quite enriching ????

What a great find - full of german artists' work. It's a great gallery, just a few minutes from the Fredens Engel. The collection is over 3 floors, but is not overwhelming - on a Sunday, it was only 1 euro entry fee. A great way to spend a few hours.

Schackgalerie was a real find. Only 4 euros and I had the entire place to myself. I can only think that nobody knows it's there. A super collection of 19th century German painting - some from the Neues Pinakothek that is currently closed. Great if you like this sort of thing!

Fair collection but not a very big museum. You may want to come on Sunday when it is only €1 as not worth to pay so much for this size of museum if for a casual visit.
