I wish I had better things to say about this place. Unfortunately, they did not help my case in the least bit. Stay away, especially if you don't speak fluent German.

I was at the inpatient unit for 2 months. The nurses and the social worker are nice but the doctors are arrogant, dismissive and unempathetic. One of the therapists I saw was also nice but we only worked together for a couple of weeks, so of course no work can be done in that time.

Additionally, the activities and services offered are incredibly, staggeringly few and poor, you will basically be expected to keep yourself occupied every day almost the whole day (which unfortunately for someone with depression is often staying in bed doing nothing). They will use Corona virus as an excuse for the limited activities but a) Corona started a year ago, and indeed it is a big issue but they have had plenty of time to adapt the services they offer and b) there's a gym space and an art studio that are empty most of the day but you can't enter because of insurance bureaucracy nonsense that could be fixed if the institute prioritized activities for patients (even the doctor admitted so)

It's important to note that they do not give you absolutely any guidance upon leaving the clinic: zero resources to get psychiatric/psychotherapeutic care. They basically tell you to use Google or call at KVB and figure it out. And if push comes to shove then you can go there again.

After I exited the hospital I tried really hard for 2 months to find the type of therapy they recommended to me and it was absolutely impossible to find anything in English covered by my health insurance. I called more than 20 numbers and many different clinics and institutes before I gave up. In the meantime I was still suffering and had no one to monitor my symptoms and medication. So I decided to contact the mpi (like they had recommended me to do if things get bad) for outpatient psychiatric care and the lady at the phone called me back to inform me that she had talked with the head doctor from my ward and they insist I need the type of therapy they had recommended me and I should talk with a different clinic! So basically they flat out rejected giving me an outpatient psychiatric appointment and gave me a different random clinic's contact instead.

I could begin to go into more examples and specifics but I think it can all be summed up in: waste of valuable time and mental resources, Kafkaesque traumatizing experience, would definitely not recommend.

Forget about it if you don't speak German. Not even appointments are possible for a simple MRI.

(Translated by Google) When I arrived I was shown my room, then I didn't get any more information. While I was with the ward doctor, a piece of paper was left in my room to sign and that was it... I didn't get any information about the ward, the procedure or anything else.
I found out everything through notices or because I'm constantly at the nursing home to ask questions.
My admissions interview consisted of a nurse coming into the room from time to time, asking a question (sometimes didn't even introduce themselves) and then leaving.
Conversations with a nurse are only planned there in extreme emergencies and even then there is little or no hope for empathy!

In psychosomatic medicine, where you are more independent as a patient than in psychiatry, in my experience, you were taken care of more than here, where you are even more dependent on it. It was thought that part of the therapy was that the patient was independent.
But if you were so independent despite an acute depression, why would you have to be admitted to a clinic as a full inpatient?

The pictures that are here on the net are of the front building and I don't know, maybe the private station? The "normal" stations don't look like that at all!
The rooms are furnished to the bare minimum and none of the rooms have a shower!
There are 2 showers for the entire station.

All in all a very bad experience I had to have there! I didn't feel comfortable at all and can't recommend it!

(Translated by Google) I can't complain.
Sure, some of the food could be better, but we're not in a restaurant here but in a clinic and the food is ok (vegetarian food is great). I think the facility and the therapy concepts are great and I was able to take a lot out of the therapy for life. I also find the doctors competent, and that's what someone with many years of psychiatry experience says. Unfortunately, I cannot understand the negative recessions, maybe I also got a good station (station 4)

I will definitely recommend the clinic and thank you very much!

(Translated by Google) Doctors (especially the young ones) always very nice, hard-working and competent. Unfortunately, the receptionist was extremely unfriendly, grumpy and incompetent. Somehow I can understand it, but it's still pretty stupid for patients with mental health problems.
