Koi is a top address for Asian food in Munich, on Wittelsbacherplatz. The interior of the restaurant is one of the most beautiful in Munich - everything dark, elegant, high ceilings with gallery.

The food is unfortunately very expensive, you rarely get away with less than 100 euros per person (with drinks and appetizers). The Wagyu beef costs 132 euros (300 grams). For this, the quality is 100% right and it is very tasty. I recommend as starters / to share the delicious calamari and baby spinach. Also sushi are very good - but only the vegetarian sushi are unspectacular. The drinks are special and there are own creations at Koi.

In the evening, a DJ provides a good atmosphere. The audience is partly chic, partly mixed.

The restaurant has the same owners as the neighboring Rocca Riviera.

Definitely an up-scale Japanese restaurant in the heart of munich. We had lunch here, food was great. My husband had the bento box and I had the steak in teriyaki cilantro sauce. I think the sushi was not up to the mark of an Japanese restaurant but otherwise food was great. I can highly the dry aged steak. Service was super friendly and kind. Great ambiance.

Fancy place with a frequently updated menu. It’s a great place if you want to splurge and enjoy impressive fusion food!

Awesome Food, it was absolutely delicious and well prepared. The atmosphere is great with a live DJ that has some nice tunes without being too loud or annoying. This is the place to go to enjoy Japanese food in Munich!

Very cold service. I have asked the waiter for a recommendation and he was just limited to say all is good …. Very impatient and not friendly environment specially when you go on your own .
I wasn’t offer the drinks menu either and at the end It was ok because I wouldn’t want to spend more time there

Food :
Tuna tartar 2/5
- tuna fish good but was sitting on something very chewy and hard
Maybe not fresh as it was deep fried and cold
Black cod 3/5
€40 had black grill burns , fish bones
And raspberry sauce didn’t add up

Nice location and friendly service, but sushi was only okayish, nothing special for this high price

Definitely overpriced for what you get. The staff is nice, but the food far from good. €30 for a tempura dish: 2 shrimps, tiny piece of fish and a few pieces vegetables?? The place is definitely overhyped. Not bad, but not worth the money.
