I stayed at hotel «La Maison» for eight days in August in a single room.
The hotel La Maison is located in the interesting Schwabing district. The nearest underground station (Münchner Freiheit) is about a five-minute walk away. For example in best case a journey to Marienplatz takes about 10 minutes using the underground. The Englischer Garten is within walking distance of the hotel. The location is therefore very good.
The hotel's common areas and the hotel room itself were very clean. The only thing that had not been cleaned for a while was the balcony next to the room. The room was well cleaned every day. However, it was not clear whether the bathroom was meant to have two or three towels...
The room was small, as was the shower space in the bathroom. However, the advantage of the small size of the small shower space was that you could not trip over in it, even though the floor was slippery. Due to the small size of the hotel room, there was limited storage space for one’s belongings. There were no drawers. The television we did not use. The room was well sound-proofed as no noise from the outside was audible in the room.
The room had no mechanical air conditioning. On hot days it was uncomfortably warm inside. Fortunately, at night the outside temperature was low enough to bring the inside temperature down to a tolerable level. We got no information whether it would have been possible to get an extra fan for the room.
The breakfast ordered with the room was adequate, varied and very hygienic as it was served to the tables. However, it might be worth ordering breakfast on the spot, because then there would be more options.
The staff were friendly. The professionalism of some of the reception staff could be improved. They didn’t notice that breakfast was included in the room rate. When they did, they charged my travelling companion's breakfast to my account. The general impression was that without the presence of the manager, no corrections could be made. The safe in the room did not work in at first and no one came to fix it.
It would be good if there were clear instructions placed in the room for using the various controls, blinds, TV and safe, among other things.
I can recommend the hotel for a few days’ stay. Those staying longer should consider other options.
