An institution on Munich but a dated monument of a hotel and the rooms are dreary. Boring decor throughout.
Breakfast was 46 euros each. A complete rip off.
But went to the Blue Bar and the barman David was excellent , friendly and chatty. I wouldn't stay at the hotel again but would definitely visit this bar as it must be the coolest bar in town and with the best service .

Extremely disappointing visit. Staff removed my business partner's luggage from his room, including passports from the safe, as a result of an error made at the front desk. Despite complaints, the hotel has not provided an explanation or any type of refund/discount. For a top rated hotel this is wholly unacceptable. We will not return anytime soon.

Nice hotel BUT it's not worth its price...
No coffee machine in room... and you have to PAY for the coffee (after the first 4 coffees... so when staying 4 days... not friendly).
Small bathroom, only bath no shower.
Very noisy air conditioning in room.
Pool quite cold, not heated

Excellent accommodations. Lots of space. Breakfast was delicious. Been in Europe for 2 weeks and this was the best coffee. Great location for old Town Munich.

They stole my money and Mr Santos is the worst front desk manager I’ve ever dealt with.

We booked this hotel from 23-26 of July 2022 through AMEX Centurion services. We came to the hotel and the room they gave us was all orange and dark (they said it’s an African themed room!). We tried to change the room, they didn’t have much rooms and gave us another option that was also bad.

We went to the front desk and asked nicely to cancel our reservation and that we decided to leave their hotel to another. I asked to see the manager, he came Mr Santos. He was blunt and rude, in the beginning he said he will take 90% of our stay (three nights) I asked him (why would you take my money and sell the room to someone else?) I simply came to your hotel and didn’t like it, if your a truly 5 star AMEX recognized hotel, you should apologize and not charge us anything because we simply didn’t stay or checkin the hotel. He refused, he was also very blunt and rude to my wife when she suggested to stay one night and leave the next day. After a long stressful discussion he agreed to charge us 90% of the 1st night, they took 504€ from us and we left. It’s amazing how these hotels can just steal your money and then sell the room to someone else.

PS update from 11:15 post. Well my Tauck tour director contacted the front desk and my wife and I were offered an air conditioned king room. It’s too late to move as we are upset and would be unable to sleep anyway.
As it turns out we were right and there were rooms open but unavailable to us or should it be US of A. Today on our tour everyone noticed the Arabs gathered outside the upscale retail shops for early entry. It seems there is an opportunity to serve and receive from these or any other groups flush with cash on any notice and especially a short one. Well, that requires having the merchandise available meaning rooms at a hotel for them and not us. I suppose we need to accept our relative position at the hotel Bayerischer but it really is hot in this expensive room which makes it so difficult to do so. Just my opinion and it may be incorrect but it remains so hot.

I am not too hyped about their spa really.
Service over there is just very good.
