This is one of the smallest beer gardens I’ve seen in Munich. So make a reservation to make sure you have a table. The staff was super slow and very unfriendly. They only serve sausage until 12 which was also a first for me- going to a beer garden and bot being able to eat sausage! The menu is quite limited and I also didn’t like the Aperol Spritz that I had, it tasted very sour and lemony which was very odd.

When you arrive a 5pm and are asked at the entrance to leave at 7.30 pm because the table is booked later on you do not expect to be reminded every 5 min about it. After 3 reminders we left 40 min before the planned hour with the place half empty. What they do good here is making the place empty.

Service is slow, and prices are slightly higher than usual (other restaurants) on some dishes. Anyway, the quality of the food is really good. And the biergarten and location makes it deserve 4☆

The interior design is nice, outside seating cosy, pretty location. Staff is very friendly, service is fast. The food quality is pretty much standard as you would get in other Bavarian cuisine restaurants but with a pretty high price tag for the quality offered in my opinion.

Absolutely the best beer garden and Bavarian restaurant in Munich. The food and beer is simply delicious and of highest quality. The waiters and service is just superb and they strictly follow the Covid-19 u0026 hygiene guidelines. The beer garden is also nice and quiet especially during the summer evenings.
My favourite place in Munich.

The food was ok but if I only had to rate the Kaiserschmarrn it would have been 5 stars. One of the best I had in München so far.

We came here Thursday 22nd October 2020. It's about 20mins walk from Marienplatz or 10-12 mins using bus 52 or 62. It's a large building on Mariahilfpl so it's difficult to miss.

Inside its very much traditional in style, solid wooden tables, chairs and flooring, but like the Ayinger place we also went to recently namely Wirtshaus Tannengarten it has a ceramic tile, 'green' covering the front facia of the bar. The staff were really good, traditional attire was also observed here, they looked really smart.

Regarding beer and food, it was nice to see a wooden barrel being tapped at the bar and I also note that they had pretty much every core beer on tap. The beer (we had Hefe-Weisse and Dunkel Weisse) was very good. Food was excellent, ok perhaps a little more expensive than other traditional bavarian places, however it was clearly a step up from most of those places, in fact only the Schneider Weisse at Berg am Laim where we visited last week was on the same level. We had a Pork Sous vide with a Dunkel Bier gravy, and with wonderful vegetable accompaniment, and a traditional proper Wiener Schnitzel, we were super impressed.

We would definitely return here again, all COVID-19 restrictions and regulations were adhered to, we had lots of space you really felt very safe here. A great find!
