With its vaulted ceilings and wood, the atmosphere is quite nice, but the food and choice of wine are rather simple - of only average quality and limited choice. Staff friendly and orders came fast. We were a bit surprised when we were charged for two aperitives that the waitress had recommended and which we found far too sweet and didn't drink. A classier place would have taken them off the bill. Overall it's ok for a visit, but not more.

Nice historical location, cozy in wintertime, very sad during summertime.
Terrible unresponsive service, fake and unhelpful.
Food is good, beer isn’t the best.
Still can be a good location for groups.

Try the tester of 4 regular Beers.

Normally, when people get a check and pay the bill, without having the right amount, give more and expect the waiter/waitress to bring the change unless asked not to. And after receiving the change leave tips.
We had an embarrassing experience waiting for the change that was around 15-20% from the total bill, that a waitress decided to take for herself without asking.
After asking, the response was "what change?!". Then after a while she threw aggressively on the table the wrong amount and left without saying anything.
We been here before, but will never come back again. Terrible service.

Not the best experience. Room was nice and good atmosphere. Staff were also friendly and attentive. My girlfriend ordered a “Healthy Bowl” in which the avocado was brown and had slightly stale corn crackers on top, not good enough for a 14 euro starter. We mentioned this to our server at the time, but no gesture was made by the restaurant. Mains were ok and beers were nice. Bizarrely we asked could we have tap water with our wine and were told it wasn’t possible - not sure why. First restaurant I’ve ever been where I’m obligated to pay for water. The wine was expensive and of very average quality. Also had to ask twice for the bill. Overall expensive for the quality, you’d get cheaper and better quality in Dublin (a city known for being overpriced) While I wouldn’t call it a tourist trap, I was disappointed as I had been looking forward to visiting.
