2 Chirag Singal - a month ago
I hope that this review is not upsetting :)
I was at Koy today, and ordered two portions of what is offered as 'student discount' - which is very misleading, because it's presented as part of special menu, but what is really offered is a small portion of ONLY the vegetarian offer. The student offer is at €7 compared to the regular one at €8, and honestly what I noticed that the portions looked way too small than just the normal €8 one.
I had brought my own boxes for the two portions to be packed, but the owner told me that she can't pack the two portions in separate boxes because it would ruin it somehow.
On getting two portions in one container, I was confused how and what could have been ruined in an airtight container, because it was just a rice bed with some salad toppings. There was no liquid, or anything that would have made it tricky.
I also ordered a portion "kimchi" and the owner also informed us, that it's €3,50/100gms, and they have been meaning to add that information in the menu. So the expectations were trimmed with prior information.
Flavors? I can definitely not comment on the authenticity of the food, as I have no prior knowledge of Korean food, but given that... the food tasted just bleh to my imbecile tastebuds. Rice was dry, and not exciting at all. I didn't feel that I was eating somewhere where I could imagine coming again or recommend it further.
The price didn't justify the food for me.
