I had planned to make a stop-over in Leipzig after having spent the previous night with friends in Blekinge, Sweden and having to be back in Lausanne 900 km to the SW the following day. I just needed a single room, that I was given on the fourth floor overlooking the inner court yard. The room was absolutely spotless without a single trace of dust and the receptionist told me I could empty the three bottles in the mini fridge, one beer, one water and one soft drink because they were free. They were all left untouched. I would not have wanted to spend another night despite a very good bed, and I would certainly not spend a night with my loved one either, feeling as if I were in a room in a rehabilitation clinic. There is everything you need with the exception of a second hanger for a second wet towel and a shoehorn. The hotel features a roof top bar, this Friday evening staffed by a DJ playing music for people in their 20's and 30's and the menu caters to this clientele, so I went out for dinner to a place more interesting for my age group. The hotel boasts serving a fantastic breakfast. Yes, there are lots of dishes, but much is tasteless. The orange juice was industrial, the peaches were no ripe and the scrambled eggs over-done. The espresso does taste something else. Compliments however for the good variety of black teas. And finally something you need to get rid of or modify; In front of me while eating, I had a TV screen presenting an aging, silver haired man looking into the eyes of a slightly younger woman who appears to have been lifted at least twice and having had spent the whole morning with her hair dresser, in a manner that no man looks at his wife. The food presented is badly lit and framed and the photographer has not learnt how to place the cutlery when you are conversing a beautiful woman sitting in front of you. Please hire a skilled product photographer if you are going to present your clients with a publicity film at 07.30 in the morning!
