Café Tunichtgut

Unfortunately, we didn`t feel very welcome at the Café Tunichtgut. We arrived around 8 p.m., looking for a place for a few drinks. The waiter/the waitress looked at us entering, but didn`t even say hello, and it took around 5 minutes until someone took our order even though there wasn`t much going on (only a few other customers, all of them set at the moment). When our drinks (the special drink with pear and a Negroni, both very tasty) were empty, no one asked if we`d like anything else. Seems like they are not looking for new customers. Since the cake looked good, I'm going for three stars even though we didn't eat anything there.

A lovely place for breakfast or supper. Staff is super nice and there are a lot of cheap and tasty options. They use local ingredients, everything is super high quality. Pictured here is a 4 people breakfast for $6/person.

I had the Dahl last time and today I brought some friends for dinner and we had an amazing risotto. I love this place

Coffee is outstanding and if that's all you want to have, then I recommend, however if you want service then you need to go elsewhere. We waited over an hour for a sandwich and a croissant and after we complained, no-one there took responsibility and admitted any error. We were simply told to wait another 15 min. They are busy, because of the coffee quality, but just avoid if you want to eat in under an hour.

Really cute cafè with very friendly staff. I admit I didn't really like the cappuccino, but it's very hard to find a good cappuccino in Leipzig. I recommend you to avoid this type of beverage and get more of a chai latte or things of the sort. I give it 4 stars still because what really makes the place pleasant is the atmosphere. The people, the staff, the place: very cosy!
