Now I can't give very good feedback. There was no air conditioning in the room and the room was unbearably hot. Horrible pungent odor in the hallway. Breakfast was good.

Stayed in the Kiel Steigenberger Conti Hansa Hotel for a weekend from Friday to Sunday. The hotel location is as well very close to the city center as to the "Kiel Line" walking promenade along the harbor and estuary with nice views and close looks to e.g. berthed cruise ships and several food and drink outlets.
Breakfast was great but ensure an early wake up in order to bypass the breakfast rush. We recommend any time before 8:30am. If weather and temperature allows have a seat on the patio. Also for dinner in the evening. We enjoyed a fried plaice dinner and it was cooked to perfection. Service and drinks were very good and the waitress was very attentive. Good quality for money.
Our harbour view room was OK but - as to mho - lacks - at least in this summer days - an air condition. We slept with open windows and found final rest and acceptable temperature in the middle of the night. This off course depends on travel season. The parking garage is closely and expensive. Better parking options are available in the area. The Kiel city center is not a reason to travel to this city...

Was there for a couple of days this week.

No working ventilation and no aircon in the rooms - absolutely terrible in the days of heat records in Kiel. Beds are really hard which wasn't very comfortable (for me). And the shower head was installed wrong so it couldn't be used right.

Of course, they cannot control the weather and aircon is usually not needed. But adding to that, having workers in the hotel, starting with angle grinders and power drills at 8:00 in the middle of the summer holiday season is not ok.

On the bright side, the waiters and staff in the restaurant and bar were very helpful, polite and fun, both at night and breakfast. And the breakfast in general was really good - they even had some gluten free options!

The room and breakfast are nice. Fitness is small but it’s enough for a daily workout. Sauna is the best here, I really enjoyed it.
The hotel is recently renovated but front desk is chaotic. There is no communication between shifts and it caused us inconvenience

Very nice hotel with friendly staff and nice rooms.
Location is close to the city centre with the possibility for a walk in a green area.
