The hotel doesn't care for Hygiene of paying customers and are happy with bed bugs biting. On top booking.com supports them - ridiculous service from both parties

I was one of several crews of Mein Schiff 1 who stayed here for one night prior to embarkation at Kiel in early December. I stayed in room 103 which is single bed room, and for a room for only one person this is a pretty good room. The desk is very wide so you can put lots of your stuffs in there. They also offer you two bottles of water in the mini fridge but I didn't try them since it cost a money. The bathroom is quite spacious and has a heater as well just like in the room. The wardrobe is a little bit small to hang your clotches, but I think that's enough for one person. Wifi was excellent and very stable, so no complaints about that.

The on-site restaurant where they provide us breakfast, lunch and dinner was nice. There are not many choice available for us but I have no complaints about them and that's just enough for all of us; overall the food tasted good. The staffs in there were also quite helpful.

The lobby area isn't that big but it's comfortable enough. They also provide coffee and tea next to the front desk, but unfortunately the hot water wasn't available because the machine wasn't working during our stay. There is also a bar upstair but I didn't look at it since it was closed.

Staffs were very friendly and helpful, and they always remind us to wear mask at all times everytime we were in the public areas, since it was mandatory due to the pandemic.

Finally, the location is strategic. It is just within a walking distance to the train station and the Sophienhof shopping center which is just right behind it. Further walking down about 10 or 15 minutes you can reach the town center where there are lots of shops like TKMaxx, Saturn and a Galeria Karsdt Kaufhof department store.

Overall it was a great stay here in the Berliner Hof Kiel Hotel, and I'd recommend it.

My room No. 124 was on the first floor. Even though i closed the window I could not sleep at all because of the street noise all night long and early in the morning . The breakfast was poor .
Sorry about it , but as the finance director who pays all the invoices regarding the Berliner Hof hotel , as far as i concern the hotel will be our last priority from now on.

Very nice hotel

Everything you need in the room. The room is big.

The bathroom is "inviting" and it is 5 star pillows.

Good location, 5 minutes walk tot he railway station and to the shopping centre. I can recommend this place if you ever come to Kiel.
