Very delicious food. The pakora was freshly prepared as well. Very nice experience and will recommend it for others to try.

Not much options were available when I visited the place. Only the thali was available without Tea. Although there were several sweets provided as part of the special thali but none of them were fresh. It's a small place with limited Indian food options. Visit only if you don't have any other option.

ZERO DELIGHT HERE. I went here with my husband once about four years ago and it was okay, nothing special, just odd in many ways (cash only, no bathroom, weird rules). Today, I happened to be passing by and stopped in to give it another try. I don't usually write negative reviews, but this experience was worthy of an exception!

Upon arrival, I politely informed the friendly but rather meek and quiet woman working there of an allergy and told her I'd like to order a few small items to go. NOTHING in the cases is labeled and most of the desserts were not specifically listed on the menu, so I asked her about one that was unfamiliar to me. (I lived in various regions of India for 6 months and am a foodie, so the other desserts were all familiar to me.) She quietly told me it's "Grieß" — for reasons that would soon become clear, that's all she said.

At this point, the owner rushed out to berate me. Even though the menu did not list the dessert in question and I'd only asked about one item, he angrily insisted, "Read the menu and then tell us which things you want instead of asking us about everything!" in German. No wonder she didn't want to speak up about the dessert! She works for an unstable, aggressive person who rages out on others for no good reason.

He went on to reprimand me for not having placed my (completely dry) umbrella in the umbrella stand that was on the other side of the restaurant, over in the seating area. I politely stated (in German) that it was dry (thinking he was concerned about water dripping on the tile floor) and he switched to English: "I was only informing you!!" he yelled as he waved his arm in the air dismissively and stormed off.

That was astoundingly rude, but I decided to let it go. I took another look at the menu and asked for one portion papadam and one portion pakoras (it was in a container next to what is generally called "pakoras" — the kind made with spinach — so I said "Das gebratene Gemüse hier."). She informed me that one portion papadam is one piece. Would I like more than one? No, just the one, thanks. Then she informed me of the price of the vegetables and asked me whether I want a half portion or a whole portion. One, thanks. The veggies were battered and deep fried, so I couldn't see what kind(s) they were. Out of curiosity, I asked whether it was eggplant as she filled a small paper bag with them. To be clear, I'd already placed my order and was not changing it, merely chatting.

At this point, the owner comes back out all kinds of angry, AGAIN telling me to read the menu and then decide. (Done, dude.) He stormed back to the kitchen. She asked me about whether I wanted any yoghurt sauce. "Ja," I said, still a bit shocked by the owner's colossal rudeness, and asked for a normal raita, pointing to one in the case. She asked me if I want a different yoghurt with fruit that was in the back of the case. I repeated, "I'd like this raita here" (pointing) and she suggested the other one again right as the owner stomped back out again. He angrily, loudly shared his unsolicited opinion that I am an "extremely indecisive woman" and that "one can tell just by looking at you." Whaaaaaaat? Apparently, asking ONE pre-order question and then clearly stating what I want despite repeatedly being asked whether I want something else (more portions? half portion? different yoghurt?) qualifies as "extremely indecisive" in his messed up world. My mouth was agape in disbelief. Seriously, dude? What is your damage?

The woman working there tried to cover up for his behavior by continuing as though nothing had happened (Would you like something else? etc.). I realized that with this dynamic, there was NO WAY I could trust that the food I received was allergy safe, but I'm a woman of my word, so I took a deep breath, paid and left. I'll give the food to my husband.

Never, ever again. Why support petty tyrants like that when the food isn't even that good (or genuinely Ayurvedic)?

I love this place for the food. The only Indian restaurant which serves the real Indian food with the real flavor and spices. Bashis reminded me about my mom's food. Thanks bashi!
