It's a great place to visit with younger children, most attractive probably for the age range 4-9 yrs old. Easily to reach within 20 minutes with public transit from Karlsruhe city center. The building itself is a national monument and owned by the city of Karlsruhe. Surprisingly, the building's heating system is fired with fossil oil, so not exactly what one would expect when visiting a 'Naturschutzzentrum'. The city of Karlsruhe committed itself to a climate-neutral administration by 2040 at the latest (which is not very ambitious). Way to go, Karlsruhe!
