Delicious food. Friendly staff and a good atmosphere.
The Käsespätzle for 11.90 is a bit expensive but the quality was relatively good.

Delicious food, large selection of drinks - with and without alcohol, friendly and prompt service. Since my first time here, it continues to deliver and has since been one of my favorite. We could sit until 10 too which definitely a bonus.

Best dish: spareribs but unfortunately, it’s not always available. They change menu every 3-4 months. Zander-filet is the next recommendation.

Edit: lowering star because the ribs is no longer available and it’s the item that’s my reason to go.

Have been there with a bigger group just before a public holiday. Staff ( Sophia ) was very attentive and friendly. The rumpsteak was served at the requested cooking stage. Prices are fair.

Update:
Have been visiting this restaurant again. Staff was still very friendly but the quality of the food differs a lot.

It’s ok, however I don’t really like the vibe here. The entire Schlachthof area is pretty hip and good restaurants everywhere. Great whiskey selection. Limited wine selection however

Zwiebelrostbraten was really good. I ordered the steak medium, but it came out medium rare. Which i actually prefer, but never ask for. Note:. Most german restaurants dont know how to prepare medium rare steaks, only medium and rare.... The waiter was also pretty friendly. Plenty of free parking, esp in Karlsruhe. I parked near Carls wirtshaus

Well, maybe it happened only once ... I almost died from thirst. The waiters did not even see us neither did they come to our table. I ordered two beers at once, which was not a bad idea, methinks.
But I'll give it a go in a couple of weeks.
To not only write bad things: The food looked yummy and the terrasse is big and inviting.
However, apart from salad no vegan option.

You want to sit in the sun and have 4 waiters walk around counting tables to see where they have been? You want to wait 30 minutes and watch the staff walk around aimlessly? Man are you in for a treat. This place will offer you a staff of 5 for outside seating, of about 30 tables and they are unable to handle new customers. Nothing like hey, I'm busy. Here are the menus, I'll be right back. Nope, just sit there and watch the show and be a treat, and just be ignored. Well for the food I can't say anything. Left after 30 minutes. Hope someone else has more luck.
