The cook mixed up tables, so some of us got served while others were very late, and some did not get there food because after the mix up, the cook did not keep count of what was served. Also they seem understaffed. You cannot either pay with card. The food was also not good: missing salad dressing, a fly in the salad, tomato-mozarella-Basil without basil, no salt and pepper. Avoid at all costs.

I looked at the reviews here right after ordering so we were a bit apprehensive.. But we were not disappointed! We both had a schnitzel which was totally fine, and the potatoes and gravy (bratkartoffeln) were great. It was quiet so no complaints about service either.

After long way down the hill we found this random place close to the castle and decided to stop by for a beer. In general I would say that this place and all the service did not change much from 39 years or so and I the whole impression is rather negative.

- young waitress not able to undarstand a word in english (in such a touristic place - shame!) and more interested in her phone than in guests
- older waitress with a hairstyle and makeup like from the horror movie - while people are free to look as they want to, in the case of waitress it was just looking unprofessional
- horrible service! We had to actually search for someone to place the order and pay ourselves, otherwise noone was interested
- the toilet just not hygienic
- the whole structure rather old, poor, boxes with old bottles or some old decorations on the way to the toilet - I probably wouldn't have courage to eat sth in this place
- you have to pay in cash

Poor and very slow service (tables don't get served completly at the same time, not all that was ordered was delivered...), the food's quality is appauling, hygiene is lacking and the toilet could be the star in a horror movie. The deco is almost non existent, the menu offers very simple dishes and even these come out badly cooked. Don't waste your time and money here, seriously and the prices are expensive. If it was possible to give minus stars to the review, I would- one is one too much.

They do not accept payment with card, I think being a tourist place they should at least notify it so that people know well before. It turns out that it was written in a small print at the end of the menú but I insist that it should be on visible place. The worse thing is that the nearest cash machine is far away down the mountain.

Very nice place, directly at heidelberg castle. Very very tasty food and good prices!! Highly recommend!

The views are beautiful from this place. Sweet venue for a wedding reception.
