Traditional German - how Grandma would cook it - cousine with tasty meat heavy dishes.
This restaurant gives you an authentic feel for the time in the last century. The restaurant is decorated with lots of references to the former owner and founder Max Walloschke. A ringer who came from Breslau to Hannover. This alone gives you a reason to visit and step back in time.
The food is delicious and you get quite big portions. Most dishes are meat centric and offer some potatoe variations and salad.
The Eisbein was tender and juicy. Biting in to it I could not believe how soft the meat felt and how the fat melted on my tounge. The meat itself was falling of the bone easily. Combined with the mustard you could add extra bit of spice.
The steaming warm Bratkartoffeln (roast potatoes) were crispy on the outside and soft on the inside.
The amazing meal and traditional atmosphere made me think of lunch at my grandparents.
Bring good hunger with you and make a reservation beforehand, since there are limited places.
