Old city of Hannover isn't very big but it's nice - with old half-timbered houses and old churches.
Most beautiful places in Altstadt - Holzmarkt square (with many half-timberd houses and Leibnitz house) and located nearby Ballhofplatz square (with open-air cafe terraces and trees).

Has a really good vibe to it, especially before corona when all the restaurants, cafes and bars were open and you could just sit outside some cafe and enjoy your cup of coffee with the old European vibe.

Altstadt is the old part of Hannover from the renaissance days of Germany. Most of it was destroyed from Allied bombers during the Second World War. But, the parts of Altstadt that remain are a must stop for any tourists to take the time and walk through this historic area. The buildings that remain are in good condition are really fascinating to walk into if you have the chance to check any of them out. There are many cafés, bars, and restaurants throughout this area to check out.
Definitely recommend!
