Nice fountain located in front of the Leibnizhaus. It's a reconstructed version of the old fountain that was paid by Oscar Winter to promote his company's iron goods.
Around the fountain there are many beautiful old historical buidings.

The Holzmarktbrunnen , also known as the Oskar Winter fountain, is a beautifully crafted fountain in the centre of Holzmarkt public square. The whole fountain sits on a raised platform, with steps leading up to the fountain. The centrepiece of the fountain is a miniature sculpture of a blacksmith by the name of Oskar Winter, The sculpture and fountain is topped by an elaborate, almost Art Nouveau like balustrade.

Make the time to see thing fountain if in Hanover.

It was located near by Hannover Marktkirche, a small quiet square with a small monument, and not too much traffic vehicles in the city.

(Translated by Google) Beautiful place at the Oscar Winter fountain in the old town in the heart of Hanover.

On the occasion of the 100th anniversary of the hardware wholesale business of Oskar Winter and Wilhelm Meier on June 7, 1896, they had the magnificent fountain built in the old town of Hanover. He should advertise for their business at the wood market. Hanoverians simply call the richly decorated water feature on the walk-in granite base in front of the Leibnizhaus the "wishing fountain": a large ring is worked into the wrought-iron lattice around the massive natural stone basin, which is said to make every wish come true when you turn it.

(Translated by Google) At the Oskar Winter Fountain there is an approx. Hand-sized brass (?) Ring that can be rotated in the grille. It is a wish ring, once turned, you have to wish for something in your mind, which will then come true. A beautiful belief! This ring disappeared for a long time in the past because it was painted over with paint. Now it's back and I turn it every time I visit. ????
