Located at the corner of a street, this place has really interesting deco and is easily missed from the outside. We ordered 5 types of dim sum, most of them are really good, especially the steamed custard bun (奶黄包). Gave it a 4 star because the meat filling for 茶果 and 生煎包 tends to be a bit too salty.

Very tasty dim sum in authentic Cantonese quality. All of the dim sums we ordered were tasty, but we absolutely recommend the 奶黄包 (egg custard bao) and the 烧賣 (Siu Mai)! I never had such delicious 奶黄包 before, the filling was very delicious!

The dim sums were really delicious, we tried lots of them!
Unfortunately, the other dishes weren't authentic enough.
Will definitely come back there for their dim sums!

This was like love at first sight! An amazing restaurant serving some really good Chinese. Especially love that is family owned and operated. Great dumplings! Cant wait to go back and try more of their delicious menu.

Yummy authentic Chinese food! It might not be upscale but it’s really authentic! Dim sums are so good!

This is the best Chinese restaurant in Hamburg in terms of dim sum. I have tried dim sum at the major places that offer dim sum in Hamburg, but they weren't as good. Here is why Xiao Xiang's (Restaurant China Garten) dim sum is so good:

1. their dim sum is self-made
2. the dough (虾饺/韭菜餃 etc.) is translucent and elastic
3. the prawns are really crunchy

Moreover Xiao Xiang is the only Chinese restaurant that offers so many different kinds of Baozi.

Some people say that ever since Xiao Xiang moved from their old location in Uhlenhorst to their new location in Hoheluft the quality of their dim sum has declined, but I cannot agree at all. In my opinion they have been consistent over many years.

The only thing that can be quite annoying at times is that their new location is a winter garden where there is real ivy at the ceiling, and every now and then an old leaf falls down.

Whenever I went there, the waiters were always friendly and polite.

Food was great especially for the price you can gat a two course lunch for under 6 euros. Service seemed a little distracted but friendly.
