This is absolutely beautiful place to visit! Only 30min from Hamburg centre, with S21 line around 22-4 min. The whole castle is very well preserved and “cleaned up”, literally every corner of this building as well as the surrounding area is really stunning! In the castle you can find a small but nicely packed museum (the ticket is approximately 5€ for adults and 3,5€ for children) and an overpriced but charming restaurant. In my opinion the nicest part is the park area around the castle… you can just buy a drink, take a blanket and seat on the grass without paying the entrance fee. P.S. In the castle Foyer you can find a toilet if necessary.

Bergedorf Castle and Museum, which is only 20 minutes away from the center of Hamburg by public transportation S21. ????
has an ambiance like it came out of a Disney movie. ????
It is also the perfect place to take pictures and be photographed ????
It also has a wonderful garden where you can lie on the grass and have a picnic. sipping lemonade in the summer sun by watching this castle surrounded by water… it really is a must-see!

Very enchanting structure that also doubles as a little cafe in the courtyard. I was lucky enough to catch the museum on the Sunday which had a jazz performance, and was able to hear it as I passed throughout the museum, reading about its history and seeing some old relics. Very nice visit, plus it has very cute tiles you can purchase at the end as a souvenir :)

Small but quite awesome. The museum is all German, so either you can go and enjoy what there is or pick up some German tidbits as you go and not care. Really a cool little castle with about 45 minutes worth of artifacts. From what the guide said in front, there is much more to see in the spring and summer, but in December their field house tour and boat tours of the waters nearby were closed. They did have a large-ish Christmas market there and the grounds were lovely to walk around.
The only thing we did not like is their energy exhibit. Not only boring, but did not have anything to do with the history of the place.

It's a beautiful castle with all greenary around and the park around with beautiful flowers and the pond besides the lake adds to it's beauty

Tranquil place with nice cafe but need to invest more in exhibitions.

A must-see of Hamburg. Even though there is only a pamphlet to English-speakers, the museum is lovely. You can learn about Bergedorf's history whilst understanding how society evolved in the last centuries. The photo exposition was nice, so as the collections when we visited. The café inside is great.
