I have pretty mixed feelings about this restaurant, about food, staff and others.

Food in general is okay, but while some dishes are amazing (kimbap, really really good ginseng chicken), some are just meh (black bean noodles, and very dissapointing shaved ice Pad Bingsu). Yes, their side dishes banchans are good and use authentic Korean ingredients, but we come for the main dishes, no?

We also had BBQ once here. It costs about 20-25€/person and you can only order it with more than 2 people. So, no single BBQ, which is ok. The marination of the ribs Kalbi was nice. The portion is generous and with the rice, banchan, we were stuffed afterwards. But some Salat leaves were rotten.

There is a middle-aged waiter who made our stay not really comfortable and welcomed. He didnt say hello, literally tossed the banchan plates on the table, and had all the time unfriendly face. But if you come to Kimchi, he will most probably be your waiter. Aside from his unfriendliness, he is fast, efficient, helpful with the BBQ.

The items in Kimchi aren't cheap. And for that, they don't accept card payment. Only cash.

The toilet is downstairs with small steep steps, so not really suitable to people with mobility problems.

In conclusion, I will still come back here for the Ginseng chicken, maybe the cold noodles in summer because no other Korean restaurants here offer it. But other than that, I wouldn't recommend you taking your friends here.

Nice Korean restaurant outside of Hamburg city center. The kimchi pancake was delicious. The dolsot bibimbab was also good but less tasty as I had before. The pot did not make the rice crusty. It came with many side dishes ao spicy squid that was very good. Many people were having the Korean BBQ and that looked great.

Expandable experience that did not encourage to come back.
Korean BBQ is pricey and all available items need to be ordered at least 2 times (e.g. min 2x pork belly). We tried pork belly (20€x2) and Beef Tongue (24€x2) for 4 persons. Sadly the tongue was totally gummy independent of its barbecuing. Sides were okay but however neither much nor interesting in taste. The chicken ordered as our shared starter was the only highlight.
Service was friendly. Though, the entire location could be more welcoming.

Do not recommend and definitely would not visit again. I would give 0 star if it’s possible. The food taste is only worth 3 stars but the price-quality ratio can minus 1 star and the one arrogant rude staff can minus another 1 star. The last star is reduced by the payment procedure. The staff took our money and put into his wallet, then turned back and took another pieces of notes out and told us we didn’t give him enough money?! At that moment, the only thing we want to do is escaping!

It used to be an amazing Korean restaurant in the neighborhood and I was frequently visiting it.

Over relatively short period of time of one year things got gradually and noticeably worse. My last visit was also a reason why I am writing this review.

One of the first korean restaurants in Hamburg.
Many koreans come here to eat.
The food is really tasty.
Sides are nice. They also have house specialties.
Beef tongue for bbq is very yummy and soft.
The service is at high level. They also grill for you at your table.
The staff overall is nice and friendly.
For drinks they also serve korean beer.

The Galbi Tang soup was very delicious, and I was very impressed by how tender was the beef in the soup! Would also highly recommend the steamed Kimchi Mandu dumplings! Friendly staff and great atmosphere and I am looking forward to my next visit!
