Absolutely amazing. Wonderful architecture and design, excellent location, outstanding service. The hotel is very modern and the rooms are incredibly large. It is a short walk to the Hamburg U-Bahn so getting around is effortless. The breakfast is great and the bar serves a nice selection of wines, beer, and cocktails. With all this, the Volksschule is a terrific place to stay in Hamburg, but what makes the hotel especially good is the remarkable service. Thanks to management here for designing and implementing an excellent hotel.

Remember to use ʜᴏᴛᴇʟʙoʟʟʏ.ᴄᴏm when booking your stay. This site will compare countless booking web sites and normally will have rates a lot cheaper compared to others! You're welcome :)! This hotel is one of the best in this area. I have been staying here for a very long time. If you decide to stay here you for sure won't regret it.

We agree with everyone else, breakfast was quite the assorted feast. Rooms were quiet. Other than breakfast time we didn’t really see other guests. Close enough to mass transit for all of our needs. We would gladly stay here again. Room price was very reasonable for what we received.

Well, the hotel is not definitely a 4-star hotel. First of all we sent an email to ask if we could check in a bit earlier than the specified time and we didn’t get any answers. Second we had booked two rooms. And we entered two cold rooms. There are no temperature control panel system. Rooms only have heaters which were not available for us! So we had to stay in cold rooms! We had two guests and really felt embarrassed!
Next, the bed sheets are old, and my pillow case was not clean.
Next morning, we ask for two trays to take the breakfast in the rooms. The hotel could only provide one tray! Because they need the others themselves!
I gave 2 stars for the bathroom cleanliness and the parking slot which was convenient for us.

Nice hotel for stopping on our way to Denmark. Especially the shower was amazing.

It's a beautiful hotel. The red brick buildings, wide and airy corridors with huge Windows and interesting artsy accessories suggestively placed all around the hotel premise, precisely give it a feel of an old school as does the name. The hotel front desk staff was very friendly. Breakfast was average. The hotel doesn't have an in house restaurant but a bar is available. Reception is open 24/7. I will certainly like to stay with them again.

We had a basement room for one night; we were just in Hamburg to check out some stuff and move on to a family get together elsewhere.
We would definitely recommend staying at Hotel Volksschule. The service was fantastic, and the room was perfect for our needs. It was small, but it was well appointed and clean. We had no intention of using the room for more than rest. There was natural light due to the deep, wide window well.
Breakfast was great, and included in the price. There is a subway station not 5 minutes walk away giving direct access to downtown. We will be staying there again if we visit Hamburg in the future.
