Hamburg Airport

A quite big and modern airport. I especially appreciated certain creative elements like quotes of famous personalities about the city of Hamburg along the wall. Bathrooms are clean and spacious. Easy to access car sharing or general accessibility by car if you’re being picked up. Chill vibe despite all those travelers going their ways. #ilikeit

Used to be my favorite airport, but now it’s become a total no go for business travelers, at least at holiday times: they close the security fast lane when it’s most needed! And of course info booths with no staff…

Twice in a row I had a one hour queue to get through security.

Later on: lounge “menu” hasn’t been renewed in over a decade, gate handling a disaster, and so on.

Isn’t the “lack of personnel” phrase a really bad excuse for bad planning and inadequate payment to become an attractive employer?

Efficient as far as airports go. Large airport, well spaced out.
Processed through security quick enough, and border control was effective.
I wouldn't expect anything less from Germany, the airport is well built and laid out, engineered correctly.

It has been a really great airport: due to less personal everything is taking longer. It still has great shops at terminal 2. But so far the service is not great anymore. I hope it will get better soon. At least the flight was nearly in time and it was quick at security check in. Going with the train to the airport is wirred cause of the sbahn situation in Hamburg.

Similar to many airports in Germany, a good selection of shops, a lot of glass to allow natural light in, some nice pubs and restaurants. Good connection to the city by pubblic transport.

Quite a nice place, and a good selection of stores and stops to eat. However, the walk ways are a quiet distance and therefore the personal logistics are a mess and shall be improved.
However, the staff and the clerks are super friendly (for HH understanding) and as soon you're at the Elbe, your are more than happy

I get that no one can really pick which airport to travel in and out of, but this was can really let you down. Accessibility by car is fairly easy and that’s what gives it some points. Early morning flights should absolutely be avoided. The morning crush of people trying to get bags dropped and through security is a disaster.

Seriously, plan ahead for 3+ hours for early flights.
