Big rooms and fun to build a hotel in such an old factory. Nice to see how they integrated some parts they kept from the factory with the new building. Great design all around, although I have to say the hotel is up for a bit of a restyle. The carpets everywhere are very old fashioned, and from the light switches/ closets/ curtains /safe etc I would wager everything in the rooms is roughly 20 years old. Breakfast was good, but most of the stuff they kept in pans was lukewarm at best, maybe look after the pancakes, bacon etc a bit more.

Design, architecture, room size all superb! Service was also on point! We has no issue parking or getting a taxi which was important to us. It's a little bit of a stroll to the city centre(30 mins or a little longer) but if you don't mind that then it's a dream stay and really a lovely walk!!! Breakfast however is too pricey, I've paid the same/similar in 5 star hotels with Prosecco and a larger fresh fruit selection on offer which can sometimes justify the price. Not a huge complaint but worth mentioning.

Another great night at the Gastwerk! An excellent nights sleep and I tried room service for the first time. A great steak and fries on the side. All washed down with a zero alcohol beer ???? ????????????

I stayed in this hotel many times and in general I can recommend it. Design is breathtaking, especially if you like loft interiors. Staff is very friendly and helpful, breakfast is tasty and offers a wide selection of fruits, cheeses, and bread. The only disadvantage are beds, which are twin beds put together (not a king/queen) which is not comfortable if you travel as a couple. Rooms in the old (brick) wing of the hotel are more comfortable than in the business wing.

Superb place to stay while in Hamburg. Amazing renovation work. Fantastic service.
