A free activity you can do in the city. It's an old commuter tunnel under the river Elbe. It's not as deep as you would expect, there are large elevators down, with smaller modern ones at the side entrance. Bikes and e-scooters tend to wizz by on the centre road with pedestrians on either side. Well worth a visit when in Hamburg

Nice to take part in a free activity and an historical piece of the city. Can choose to take the elevator down (there is also a modern elevator on the main city side that tourists dont know about) or you can walk down. View old the city from. The opposite side of the river.

You can cross the river by this underground tunnel and on the other side you can either go back through it again or get a ferry.

Cool way to cross the river. And it’s for free. Amazing. Bring a jacket. It gets cold.

With elevator on both sides. Free. Walk across 5 minutes.
