Lovely atmosphere and great food. The waitstaff told us that one of our mains would be slightly slow and offered us free soup as compensation. I said I’m lactose intolerant but my partner could have soup. The waitress came back with soup for us both, having found out that the soup is actually lactose free. Most places really couldn’t care less but this place goes above and beyond.

Delicious German food, great service, very family friendly ambience. I had the schnitzel and meatball with the spätzle and caramelised onions - delicious!

Omas Küche in Freiburg needs no introduction.

Excellent Breakfast / Brunch or dinner's.

You will not be disappointed by the service or this place.

Good food at reasonable prices especially at lunch time. Vegetarian options. Outdoor seating (not too much traffic). Great rhubarb tart.

No soy milk for lactose intolerant guests.
Outdoor smokers - so check the wind direction.

FYI: kitchen closes at 10pm - drinks only after that

Back to Freiburg after some years I was happy to find the same kitchen at Omas Küche, in a familiar frame, with typical new German kitchen with Italian contamination. Nice photographs and soft illumination, the kindness of personnel

Good food, very good ambience. Good, solid, well-prepared German food, reasonable assortment of beer on tap. The service was very good. Hope to go again.
