Very good experience, mostly due to one of the waiter in the bar. Gaston Pallero was extremely helpful throughout my entire stay. He made sure my and my colleagues had everything we needed and made for very entertaining conversation. Thank you Gaston!

Maybe it was just that day, but when when we arrived at this hotel we got quite a shock because of different atmosphere than we expected from the photos. This leans more towards a hospice environment behind barriers, with sick and recovering patients from the medical center attached to it, than that of a luxury spa hotel. That is perfectly fine but we were absolutely not aware of that prior to visiting. The room smelled like the room where my late grandmother lay in state, windows with fingerprints on them and no airconditioning, keep in mind it was 35 degrees that day. The hotel had many elderly people with crutches and drainages that they carried with them as well as wheelchairs moving though the thin long corridors that have a hospital atmosphere. Obviously hotel and staff do a wonderful job for those people but it was absolutely not the kind of hotel we expected for a romantic or luxury spa trip. I suggest the photos and explanations should tell a more complete story about the target audience and interconnectedness with medical relations in this case. We decided to leave and take our financial loss.

Today, totally understaffed
At first I will say, the people who works here, in every profession and position, they where always friendly, helpful and polittly.
Rooms was not clean, for example my bathroom has lakes of dry urine around the toilet, or the blades of the room fan was black from dirt. The Room Service isn`t available every day. The orders in the Restaurant doesn`t come or it tooks a lot of time. They mix up my reservation for a suite with AC, I end up in a very small room without AC. Outside now are 36Grad now, great.

Good location hotel, great welcoming and perfect breakfast. However, the quality of housekeepingis average, and there is NO AIR CONDITIONER which mean not recommend in summer, unless you prefer stay without air conditioner!

Booked this hotel for a special birthday weekend and was thoroughly disappointed. We were fooled by the amazing lure of a thermal spa thinking it would be this forested getaway.

The first thing I found disappointing is that I called twice to ask about the spa before I booked. I knew it would be €14 extra per person. But they never mentioned that they had changed timing so that it is now only two times a day you can enter. 9 am of in the afternoon, this changes per day, and isn’t posted publicly. So much for my idea of a soak and massage after a day hike.

Secondly, every morning at 9:00 you can expect a wake up knock from housekeeping (there are no do not disturb signs) - btw they are not wearing masks when they are in your rooms. But I’m not sure exactly what housekeeping is doing since every time we retuned to the room we had dirty glasses left, only one fresh towel, no new lotion, and the minibar wasn’t restocked. I called two different evenings asking for additional pillows and never received them. At one point I had to go down to the front desk and wait 30 minutes to get them.

The rooms have 0 amenities and we were lucky to be in a slanted roof room so we had to duck every time we used the shower.

I tried to talk to the front desk about my issues after my second night, but nothing changed and no retribution was offered.

When I went to pay the manager didn’t care that our stay wasn’t nice. He was totally unapologetic and said because I booked via booking.com he could only offer me a 10% discount at this exactly location, not even at the other chain locations, for a 2021 stay. He would have “given” me breakfast but I had apparently missed that so that means just the 2 beers from the minibar were compensated.

This is an area rich in hotels, with free spa facilities and more. My advice: save you trip and book something of the same price or less with triple the amenities in same area.

Very little information was given about how many of the services aren’t available at the moment. I can’t remember seeing anything when booking about the saunas being closed and zero massage facilities. Would not have come here if I had know that. When I asked at the reception about any spa treatments etc I was told to look in Freiburg myself. Really expensive weekend for nothing. Also appears that one of the restaurants is closed and the menu they are currently offering is terrible.
The rooms are very basic for the price, the pillows that were in the room when we arrived are a joke and appear to be about 20 years old, I’ve had better ones from Ikea.

Went for a two day business workshop. Hotel was chosen because we wanted to "get away from it all". Beautiful place, delicious food, excellent staff. Loses a star because even though there's aircon in the common areas, there's none in the actual hotel rooms. It was a warm evening and entering the room was like entering a sauna.
