After a few days of German food here, we were yearning for a change and delighted to chance upon a Japanese Izakaya - the perfect place that we were hoping to find here in Frankfurt. We arrived here at close to 9pm when the sun was setting and thankful that they allowed us in. The place was full when we arrived and fortunately a couple from a table were leaving. Being Japanese cuisine lovers ourselves, our verdict is that the food is really good - both quality and the value.

All menus were more than satisfactory! The seafood is very fresh, perhaps the best one in Frankfurt. Gyoza, takoyaki, and kara age are all crispy and tasty. I had chazuke for the first time, which was so warm and delightful. And of course, the ramen is a must to try as well ???? Since the restaurant is small, yet always full, reservation is absolutely necessary. It takes a while for the food to come out, but that is not a problem given its heavenly taste ????

The food is legit and fresh!
Staff also kind but a little bit price ????
Even though if you want to try Japanese food I highly recommend!
The lunch menu is so nice but I don’t recommend ramen haha

Mangetsu is Japanese Izakaya style cuisine. The place is close to Messe. I really enjoyed the Sasimi, sushi and Seafood Nabe soup! Nabe soup has various seafood, vegetable and deep taste which I like it very much ! If u want to try Japanese craft beer and fresh sushi, I fully recommend u to visit here!

It was a nice place to eat. Sashimi was fine but fishy tasting, sushi was decent and squid was ok but a bit on the chewy side. The ambiance was great and the service was attentive and quick. Overall, I liked it and would go back again.

The foods were genuine Japanese foods with a lovely sake. The atmosphere is indeed peaceful and nice. I will definitely visit here more often.

Delicious food at dinner, we tried salmon avocado inside out sushi rolls, starter Karaage, 150gm beef shaved/thin slices steak for grilling with wasabi avocado dip as well as misho dip. Amazing food and loved the deco. We tried at the izakaya-Mangetsu Messe Restaurant.
