Hidden away behind the big 19th. century facades of the street, in a cozy backyard, lies a little gem: The Reading Café (Lesecafe). Being sheltered away from the main street, it is a small oasis amidth the bustling town.

Besides the cute courtyard in the front if the building, the café has a beautiful sunroom in the back. It is stacked with books and you can find a peaceful place here to read and have homemade cake and coffee, but also little snacks and breakfast is available.

In summer you can sit outside in the courtyard with birds tweeting and sometimes the red squirrel from the neighboring house peeks over the wall and makes the guest laugh.

The staff at the café is very friendly, and you feel relaxed here. It is one of my favorite cafés in Frankfurt. Definitely worth a visit if you are in Frankfurt.

It’s located in a secret area, which contains open spaces also warm and peacefully atmosphere.

I really enjoy this quiet cafe in the center of Frankfurt. I have to work in this part of Frankfurt sometimes and like to go here afterwards. The coffee is very good and they have a small neat selection regarding breakfast which also tastes quite good. It’s located behind a house with a lot of green flowers which gives the place a nice atmosphere. The staff is always friendly and you can stay here some time to relax.

I only had two teas here, but the dishes on the other tables looked and smelled delicious. I was a bit disappointed with the concept, as I expected it to offer opportunities to read and relax which were missing. They only had wooden tables and wooden chairs, no other, more comfortable, options to sit back and enjoy a book. They had an open bookshelf where you could borrow or spend a book. So, overall a good café, but not really special and the "Lese" in the name, comes to short for me.
