We ordered the Frankfurt slaughter plate and the Frankfurt schnitzel. I wasn't a huge fan of either the blood or liver sausages from the slaughter plate, but they were interesting to try. I really liked the schnitzel, it's far superior to any schnitzel I've had before. I thought that their house apple wine was just ok. The tavern style of the restaurant was very cool. There were several long tables and benches inside the restaurant, and different groups of people were seated right beside each other. Everyone was talking and laughing, and it was a great vibe, but this is definitely not the place to come for a quiet, sit-down meal.

Please note that this place is cash only!! Apparently there is a sign that says cash only at the front of the restaurant, but we completely missed it. We only found out after we ordered our food that it was cash only, and even though we asked them to cancel our order shortly after placing it as we weren't sure if we had enough cash to cover it, they told us it was not possible to cancel. Thankfully we had just enough cash on us to pay for the meal. We were originally planning on ordering more food after the initial order, as their menu looked interesting, but we didn't end up ordering anything else due to them only accepting cash.

The food was great, the waiter who served us, Enzo, was very professional and attentive and the owner was really funny and entertained the customers throughout the evening with funny and ironic talks and songs. Super atmosphere! I really enjoyed this experience.

I Love the place. The Apfelwein was really Good. We ordered a small schnitzel and a grilled rib to share and both were very tasty. But for sure the best was the entertainment, super funny!
I gave it 4 starts only because it was so loud you could barely keep a conversation in your table, but still an experience totally worth to have!

We had dinner here on our first night in Frankfurt, and we were very excited after reviewing the menu and previous reviews.

We didn't make an appointment and walked in at 5.10pm.
We politely asked if they had room, and the attendant had a bit of a laugh and said sure if you can find a table (the place was empty ????).

We sat down, ordered a round of drinks and perused the menu.

Apfelwein obviously, as it's the speciality here.
We ordered the schnitzel, the German tasting platter and sausages and mash for our youngest.

Can I just say, the vibe of the place even when empty was so hospitable, that we felt immediately at home there.

The food was AMAZING. The Green sauce, oh yeah give me 8 of them, please!

Schnitzel cooked to perfection, and the sausages, again absolutely delicious.

Overall our dinner came to 50 Euro or so.

We were advised that it was cash earlier on, so that wasn't an issue either. But by 6pm when we left, it was quickly filling up.

This is one place I would happily hunt down again whenever I visit Frankfurt in the future.

ONE OF THE BEST PLACE FOR GERMAN FOOD
You can eat only inside. Better make a reservation.
Simple typical food, but very good and tasty.
Everybody was very kind, and the service was fast!
Price reasonable.

Very friendly and attentive staff. Food came out quickly. The schnitzel portion was massive! Just wish there were more potatoes. I appreciated that the dish came with both the herbaceous green sauce and the sour cream sauce. Be sure to try the apple wine! Also, this place is cash only!! And tip is not included in the bill.

Came here for dinner after a long day in rainy Frankfurt. I wish we'd gone somewhere else. We entered with masks on, out of courtesy as much of Germany still seems to wear masks indoors. I greeted the host in German and their response was "You don't want to wear this really, do you? Covid is over." I was so taken aback by their rudeness! A German family came in after us and needless to say, they didn't ask them to remove their masks. The food was nice enough and the other waitress was pleasant. Also, despite no signs even in German to say that they only accepted cash, we were told this was the case after our meal so I had to walk to the nearest cash point which has a 3.95 Euro transaction fee. ???? Really put a downer on our otherwise great day. Shan't be returning, nor recommending.
