On a visit to my hometown and after 3 hours travel with family and small kids we thought it’s a good, timesaving idea to get pizza for all of us. So we ordered whilst traveling just before we got there. Our favourite Pizza topping is Funghi, so went for that. When we arrived our order was ready to pick up and everything seemed to be fine but sadly at home we realized that instead of expected fresh toppings they only used canned food toppings. Some might think this looks like a hair splitting case. But for an authentic Italian Pizza I would‘ve expected fresh ingredients. I was angry, called and asked them if they could make us pizzas with fresh mushrooms. They agreed, but they‘d have to charge me 2€ for fresh Champignongs.
When I told them that I‘d never expected this kind from an so called authentic Italian Pizza, they immediately got angry and started aggressively shouting at me.
I was terrified and I asked for a refund, daughter threw the money on the counter and said "If you don't like our rules eat your Pizza somewhere else."
The owners (elderly man, wife and daughter) really didn‘t have themselves emotionally under control. I just simply tried to explain that I wasn‘t happy with their pizza. They got offended by this and started with insults in front of all other visitors, who where standing outside in line. The owner threw rassist remarks at me and threw me out of his place. I’ve never ever experienced anything similar like this in Frankfurt.
Still petrified when I think back.
„Go back to your country“, is what this old shop owner said while pushing me out.
