Ich bin Amerikanerin, und dieses Restaurant ist super! I discovered currywurst for the first time; I always thought Germans ate bratwurst every day but currywurst and a side of French fries with a huge dollop of mayonnaise is SOO much better than the bratwurst we have here in the U.S. My husband currently lives in Frankfurt and I insist on visiting here at least once when I visit. I still find it a bit odd to eat standing up along with extremely strict rules about who is allowed to sit at the table right next to the standing "booths" - that's for the other restaurant's customers. And the dark German bread!!!! SOOOOO GOOOOOOOD!!! I think the bread was even better than the currywurst. They include the bread with their entrees, but I think they should also offer to sell it separately because I would take a loaf home with me! Too full to eat the bread and the entree at once.
Often, there are long lines so Germans love this place, too! I say expand the kiosk, hire more employees, invest in benches for we fat Americans to sit on. There's lots of Americans in Frankfurt. The only thing that bothered me was that the employee was impatient with my German. He didn't say he spoke English, so when I struggled a bit he looked to my husband to take over the conversation as if he knew my husband was a native. Germans don't tend to be very tolerant of those who aren't fluent in the language. I found on my visits that it's just better to speak English and hope they understand you. They usually do. It's better than being laughed at for my terrible German. Oh yeah- go get some currywurst und pommes frites from this amazing little place!! Wunderbar!
