very interesting fairytale place with aristocratic spirit! the place is very good for weekend walks. with the Great Garden and the spirit of the whole estate one manages to abstract from the energetic modern city life

Villa Hügel - more like a castle with Italien or French flair. Impressive to see how the Krupp dynasties lived there from 1880 to 1945.
Fair price of 5 EUR to visit. You should plan 1 hour for the house and at least 1-2 hours for the park / gardens.

The places are beautifully maintained and the park very relaxing. By its history and beauty, this place should be visited.

I've seen a few castles and museums in my day.
I am not sure if I am being fair, historical building with large ballrooms and art work of the family.
I was very disappointed nothing to show life of the family. No video but you can take pictures, verboten... just incase you cannot climb the staircase....

Visiting the villa today with our son and my sister who happens to visit us in the NL. The villa itself is very beautiful, but our visit was unfortunately nothing more than an uncomfortable experience. Two staffs were very friendly, but many of of them were very rude, disrespectful and annoying. Told us to not making a video or panoramic picture which is understandable. But that would be great if they told us in a nicer and friendly way to inform us. Then one lady came and told my son off, to not play with his car toy on something. He didn't even touch that, we won't let him do that! We kept our eyes on him and stayed close to him all the time. From that moment, that lady kept following us and kept looking at our son as if he is a criminal really! It was very uncomfortable and very disappointing, we won't recommend this place to anyone. What a waste!:-(

The stately home of the famous Krupp family. Really well preserved with a lovely museum and a massive park. Definitely one of the nicest attractions in the area that I know of. You can easily spend quite some time here
