The first time i went they didn't speak any English and my German wasn't good enough. They don't have any gluten free beer and didn't seem to understand gluten free at all. They recommended Weiner schnitzel covered in breadcrumbs which i scraped off.
The second time the waiter spoke perfect English and gave us an English menu! I was able to choose something i was able to eat. The food was great the second time. The first time, it was okay.
I haven't found any gluten free beer anywhere in Belgium, Nederland, or Germany so that's not a criticism of this place, and you can't expect Germans to speak English for your benefit, do neither is that.
Our German friends found it hard to understand the German menu as it is good from a different part of the country.
Bring your own or drink the delicious German wine of you are gluten free and enjoy the beautiful setting and sit outside watching the yachts go sailing by.
We will of course visit this lovely place again.
