I normally don’t write reviews but this restaurant worth it!

This is the best and most friendly Vietnam restaurant I have been to in Europe ;) We enjoyed our time here and the waitress as well as the boss asked us about the food twice, which means they care about their food quality and customers’ feedback. I will totally bring more friends to here if they visit NRW ????????

Good Vietnamese food in the center of Essen. Reasonable prices, except for the ‘detox water’ (€6,50 for a bottle). Not worth it. We had the small pho and the Bun Bo Xan, with summer rolls as appetizer. We paid €30.

Vietnamese restaurants are ubiquitous in Germany but that doesn't mean most are good. As a Vietnamese, I've been general disappointed in Vietnamese food in Germany but when I went here, it blew my taste buds. Amazingly crispy pork banh mi. The pork was so juicy on the inside and crispy on the outside in such an amazing simple sauce. Banh mi is getting quite popular in Germany and it's popping up everywhere but THIS is the best banh mi place I've had in Germany. I also ordered the bun cha, which is not often on menus in Vietnamese restaurants in Germany, which is tells you that this place IS the spot for authentic food. The grilled meats is marinaded so well, so juicy with the charred aroma from the grill. I love that the owners have great passion for Vietnamese food and unapologetically presents only the true essence of Vietnamese cuisine. I wish to come back to Essen just to eat this.

Delicious authentic food and hospitable owner and staff!

We're always in search of authentic Vietnamese so we thought we would give this place a try. We can confirm the food is authentic and simply delightful! Likewise, we had the dumplings, papaya salad, Pho special and Vietnamese coffee and everything was delicious!
Highly recommend this place for both the food and the hospitality.
We will be back!

One of my favorite places to have soups and authentic vietnamese food. The service is huge and its a bit costly at the same time

Lots of delicious traditional Vietnamese dishes, all served with fresh ingredients! Also really nice and super sweet people working at Tan Tan and not expensive! Highly recommended!
