The best thing is that it is situated 5-minute walking distance. Moreover, the hotel was not full. There were free rooms. So if you need the room in this hotel tonight, it is possible to book the room just before the checking in. Of course, it would be better to book on advance.
But the rooms are too poky and not comfortable. The beds were too close because there was not enough space.
I wish the towels and bed linen could be more clean and fresh. There were stains on them.
The breakfast was simple but it was enough. Several kinds of bread, cheese, meat, cereals, eggs, butter, jams, fruits, vegetables. The man in the breakfast area was incredibly polite, cheerful and nice.
The worst thing was that tea and coffee are charged. You can get free coffee and tea only during the breakfast.

The hotel is nice. I had a confortable night. The bed is good and the hotel was very clean. It has air conditioning and it was working! I didn't have breakfast so I cannot say anything about it. Of course the room is small. But I paid a nice price. So in the end I think it's a really good cost benefit.

This was a one night business stay so I was looking for central locations in Essen. in this sense, the hotel was great. I had to walk a bit but I was close to everything. I am not looking for a functional room with a lot of stuff in it. So here is what i did not like in the room: Too full of stuff people do not need. writing and seating area are kind of too much. The bathroom was very old, the shower door is not closing properly so everything went wet very fast.

Not a good hotel.
It's acceptable thou.
The rooms are clean but too small.
Breakfast is acceptable but not many choices of food.

Literally next to the train station (our room has view on the train platforms). 10 min walk to the city center. The bathroom is very small (although somehow cosy). The walls are quite thin, hence you'd hear the footsteps and talking from the hall way. The breakfast is okay.

This is a chain of Hotels I stay in different cities and is always good and welcoming. There's always a good bed and a good shower, in some cities the rooms are bigger than other but you can expect more or less same quality and it is clean! In Essen the rooms are a bit small, you can still move around, but you might have to skip your morning yoga as there is not much extra room. The personal is charming, the space looks, again, clean and tidy. We have breakfast included, which is always good ( I am a breakfast lover) It is what I think is your typical German morning food, eggs (real ones), brot!!!(the best bread I ever eat is still in Germany) cereals, cold meat, some fruit and teas and coffee. All good so far.
