Do not misinterpret- this is a 5 star restaurant, all the way in terms of quality.
The interior is welcoming, designed with care and appreciation for the U.S. frontier style, but not to the extent that it overwhelms and becomes a parody like other restaurants, falling into a trap of just throwing out as much stereotypical objects it can get its hands on.
The staff is wonderful, explaining the different varieties of cuts to newcomers (thought you will eventually have to use google for assistance), and you will truly appreciate it if you are versed in beef.
It's a restaurant that knows it has quality, and is not afraid to express it. It's a steakhouse by definition, but it can match most high end restaurants in Essen by class.
So why the 3 stars? Obviously the price. I don't mind paying extra for good food, and this is a place that treats it's food with love and devotion; but if you check the images, the second one is from Gordon Ramsay's restaurants. We are talking about Gordon Ramsay prices here. It's good food, but not Gordon Ramsay good.
Will I be returning? Probably, yes. But that 10-15+ extra euros you have to pay per plate makes this restaurant a bi-monthly excursion instead of a bi-weekly outing, if that at all.
